Blue Demon

Blue Demon, the ring name of Alejandro Muñoz Moreno (1922–2000), was one of the great legends of Mexican professional wrestling. Public sources indicate that his in-ring career began in 1948; he first wrestled unmasked and then adopted the Blue Demon persona, with a blue-and-silver visual identity that became iconic. Over his career, he established himself as a top técnico and went through a celebrated run of tag-team work and rivalries, especially his historic feud with El Santo, one of the most remembered in Mexican lucha libre. He also appeared in lucha films, which expanded his fame beyond the ring. Documented accomplishments include world and national welterweight titles, as well as major apuestas victories. He retired in 1989 and died in 2000.
